A few diners mention the need to pre-order specific dishes, like Bakmi Siantar, which some find inconvenient despite the food being worth the wait. The restaurant may get busy during peak times, leading to potential waits for tables, especially on weekends. Others note that the selection is somewhat limited for those seeking vegetarian options, although the tofu dishes are popular. Those expecting a fine dining experience might be disappointed as the vibe is more laid-back. Finally, some suggest that additional signage might help newcomers find the spot more easily, as it's tucked away on Station Rd.
This restaurant is an amazing hidden gem! We went on a Thursday night and a couple of the party had pre-ordered as they wanted Gado-Gado. We had oyster mushrooms for starters an a crispy batter and they were amazing. The food was a fantastic hit and you can tell they care about the food. We will be visiting again in the near future
Truly authentic Indonesian taste! We had the Bakmi Siantar, and it was absolutely spot-on—just like what you'd get back home in Indonesia. Do note that you need to pre-order it a day in advance, but trust me, it’s worth the wait. We also tried the salt and pepper tofu, bakwan jagung, and babi panggang—all of them were delicious and perfectly seasoned. Service was just as impressive. The owners were kind enough to open the restaurant just for us, even though they had originally planned to close that day to move some things. After dinner, we even had a lovely chat with the owner—such a warm and welcoming experience.
This restaurant is a little gem 💎 from the warm welcome to the fantastic food 🥘 highly recommended you visit and check it out for yourself. Every bite was a flavour explosion, so moorish. Essential to book your table in advance to avoid disappointment.
Beautiful food, really tasty and you can tell very fresh. Will definitely book again
Absolutely amazing food, Kota Lapo is a great addition to Hadfield! The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were incredibly helpful, telling us about each part of the dishes we ordered. Very reasonable prices too!
Finally an Indonesian restaurant which located not far away from Manchester! Food The food was amazing. I ordered the Nasi Campur and it was delicious. The pork was so nice and delicious, and the broth was so warm and soothing. My friends had Babi Panggang and they said it was amazing as well. If you like spicy, ask for their sambal andaliman. It's spicy, fragrant, and delicious. I would love to come back next time for another food on the menu to try. Atmosphere and service It's a small restaurant which has a very homey ambiance. The staff were super nice and polite. The chef said hi to us as well. We love this place.
